Dear Fanny, dear Felix!
Conversation in tones
“Music may become a profession for him, while for you it can and should only be an adornment, never the basic bass of your work” Far from it, dear Abraham Mendelssohn!
For not only his son Felix was to celebrate great successes as a composer, but his no less talented daughter Fanny also proved to be a match for her brother.
In honor of the 175th anniversary of the deaths of Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn, the Mendelssohn orchestra family of The Young ClassX is dedicated to the extraordinary work of the two Hamburg-born siblings. Accompanied by staged readings of the lively correspondence between Fanny Hensel (née Mendelssohn) and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, the three youth orchestras play their way through the composers’ oeuvre.
